For safe operation in hazardous areas, there are different protection housings available:
1- TConly method: The sample is transferred to the ceramic furnace, which oxides sample to CO2 at
1,200 ° C. The water vapor produced by oxidation is condensated by a cooler, remaining corrosive gases are then captured by the filters and CO2 continues to flow in the line thought to NDIR sensor and the output gives the result.
2- TOC Direct Method: The sample is first acidified with a diluted hydrochloric acid in TIC (Total Inorganic Carbon) reactor. There, carrier gas continually flows through the sample. Because of the low pH value (<2), the inorganics are removed from the sample. At the end of this process, it continues as TConly method.
