NitriTox

Toxicity Wastewater Analyzer

Reliable Toximeter for Monitoring Toxicity Levels

Monitor Toxins Quickly and Reliably

Our LAR™ NitriTox™ toximeter water analyzer continually monitors wastewater treatment plants for pollutants. Potential toxins in water are determined through the reaction of highly sensitive bacteria. The measurements follow at intervals of less than 5 minutes. Thus, allowing enough time to introduce countermeasures after the occurrence of pollution. The NitriTox offers three warning levels, which can be individually set.

Our NitriTox toximeter water analyzer is a specialized instrument used to monitor the toxicity of wastewater and other environmental samples. The instrument is based on bioluminescent bacteria and measures the level of toxicity by detecting changes in the luminescence of the bacteria in response to toxic substances.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

The NitriTox toximeter water analyzer is commonly used in these applications:

  • Wastewater Treatment Plants: Used to monitor the toxicity of effluent from wastewater treatment plants to ensure that it meets environmental regulations and is safe for discharge into the environment.
  • Industrial Applications: Used in various industries, such as chemical manufacturing, pulp and paper, and food processing, to monitor the toxicity of their wastewater discharge and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Environmental Monitoring: Used for environmental monitoring, such as monitoring the toxicity of surface water, groundwater, and soil samples. It can help identify areas of environmental contamination and evaluate the effectiveness of remediation efforts.
  • Research and Development: Used in research and development applications to evaluate the toxicity of various substances and to study the effects of toxic substances on living organisms.

    FAST & ROBUST TOXICITY ANALYsis

The NitriTox instrument is based on bioluminescent bacteria and measures the level of toxicity by detecting changes in the luminescence of the bacteria in response to toxic substances.

It contains a sample chamber where a small amount of bioluminescent bacteria is added to the water sample being tested. The bacteria used in it are typically a strain of Vibrio fischeri, which produces light when it is exposed to certain toxic substances.

Once the bacteria are added to the water sample, the NitriTox measures the luminescence of the bacteria using a photomultiplier tube. The photomultiplier tube detects the light emitted by the bacteria and converts it into an electrical signal that is then measured by the instrument.

If the water sample contains toxic substances, the luminescence of the bacteria will be reduced, indicating the presence of toxicity. The NitriTox then calculates a toxicity score based on the level of luminescence measured, which can be used to evaluate the toxicity of the water sample.

    NO FURTHER PURCHASES NECESSARY

Firstly, it is not necessary to purchase or externally cultivate test organisms, such as fish or daphnia. Secondly, the toxicity analyzer is extremely low in maintenance because the bacteria mass constantly proliferates on its own.
