PROVIDING INNOVATIVE MEASUREMENT SOLUTIONS

ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING

Delivering Safety & Process Monitoring Solutions, You Can Trust

Air quality and climate change are pressing concerns that necessitate the implementation of advanced techniques for the detection and analysis of atmospheric molecules. Among the various analytical methods available, Cavity Ring-Down Spectroscopy (CRDS) stands out as an exceptional approach due to its remarkable precision, sensitivity, and specificity. Unlike other methods, CRDS allows for accurate monitoring of pollutants and greenhouse gases without being affected by moisture and other atmospheric constituents.

With our cutting-edge measurement solutions, you can effectively address these environmental challenges. Our state-of-the-art gas analysis systems enable you to comply with regulatory standards, reduce downtime, and optimize overall process efficiency. By utilizing our comprehensive suite of tools, you gain the ability to make informed decisions based on real-time data, identify potential issues promptly, and proactively implement measures to ensure the integrity of your operations.

By leveraging the power of CRDS and our measurement solutions, you can confidently tackle air quality and climate change concerns. Our technology provides you with a reliable means to track atmospheric molecules accurately, enabling you to contribute to the preservation of our environment while maintaining the smooth functioning of your operations.

We know your process and how critical it is for you to protect precious and limited resources. Explore our Application Support.

  • ATMOSPHERIC CHEMISTRY

Atmospheric chemistry is the study of chemical processes and reactions that occur in the Earth’s atmosphere. It focuses on the composition, behavior, and transformations of various gases and particles present in the atmosphere. This includes studying the sources and sinks of pollutants, the formation and destruction of ozone, the chemistry of greenhouse gases, and the interactions between different chemical species in the atmosphere.

Scientists have relied on our EXTREL™ Quadrupole Mass Spectrometers and Systems for Atmospheric Chemistry studies. From flux measurements to hurricane atmosphere composition studies, Extrel offers a solution to the needs of their customers.

    FENCELINE MONITORING

Fenceline monitoring is an important tool for assessing and managing the environmental impact of industrial facilities, such as chemical plants, oil refineries, and other manufacturing facilities. It involves monitoring air pollution levels at or near the boundaries of a facility to assess the potential impacts of emissions on nearby communities and the environment.

Our EXTREL MAX300-AIR™ Environmental Gas Analyzer can measure fugitive benzene at < 0.6 µg/m3 (0.2 ppb).  Recent amendments to 40 CFR 60 and 63 have lowered the actionable level to 9.0 µg/m3 (2.8 ppb) at this concentration Extrel mass spectrometers offer a real-time, fully automated solution with better than 99.9% accuracy.

  • AMBIENT AIR MONITORING

If ambient air is not monitored, it can have serious consequences for public health and the environment. Without monitoring, it is difficult to identify sources of pollution, assess the risks to human health and the environment, and develop effective strategies to mitigate those risks.

The EXTREL™ MAX300-AIR™ Environmental Gas Analyzer can be configured to monitor a larger number of samples, with the use of several different valve combinations. This gives the MAX300-AIR Environmental Gas Analyzer the largest sample capacity available for a process mass spectrometer.

Our EXTREL™ VeraSpec™ Atmospheric Pressure Ionization Mass Spectrometer (APIMS) is designed for reliable and repeatable low parts-per-trillion detection limits for contamination control in Ultra-High Purity (UHP) gases used in semiconductor and other high-tech industrial applications.

  • WATER QUALITY MONITORING

Water is a critical component of environmental monitoring because it is essential for the survival of both plants and animals, and it plays a vital role in many ecological processes. Water quality monitoring is a crucial aspect of environmental monitoring, as it helps to identify potential sources of pollution and assess the health of aquatic ecosystems.  Environmental monitoring of water can involve a variety of techniques, including measuring water temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen levels, and the presence of contaminants such as heavy metals, pesticides, and pathogens.

By regularly monitoring these parameters, it is possible to identify potential problems and take action to protect public health and the environment.  Our LAR™ online, continuous TOC COD BOD water analyzers are an ideal solution for many water types and application needs.

  • EMISSIONS MONITORING

    GREENHOUSE GASES

Our TIGER OPTICS™ Trace CRDS (Cavity Ring-Down Spectroscopy) gas analyzers are one type of technology that can be used to monitor greenhouse gases (GHGs). Here are some ways in which our trace CRDS gas analyzers can be used for GHG monitoring:

    • Direct measurements of Greenhouse Gases
    • Continuous monitoring
    • High sensitivity
    • Field deployment
